The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Soldiers Table

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.

This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Why Split the Party?

With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the events of the third episode show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.

The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer knows Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

Lastly, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them few options but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

Future Episodes

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Schemers tables.

Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
