Close to 25,000 Left Without Power in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Storms
Around twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing strong winds topping over 100 km/h.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Broad Destruction
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also encountered power outages after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred requests for assistance across the region, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing area - numerous assistance requests
- Wyndham - 179 emergency requests
During the peak on Sunday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with continued storm activity predicted across different parts of both areas.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
